New Regulations for Vacation Home Rentals

As of January 1st 2019, residences that are located in the unincorporated portion of El Dorado County and residences rented “for the purpose of overnight lodging for a period of not less than one night and not more than 30 days, be registered with El Dorado County as a “Vacation Home Rental”. See section 5.56.010 of the El Dorado Code of Ordinances:

The county sets very specific requirements for what qualifies as Vacation Home Rental and requires that a “Local Certified Contact’ be listed on the VHR permit to be available to respond to complaints or emergencies 24/7.
